GEDEX offers you the possibility of configuring it to adapt it to the needs of your office or company. This will allow you to limit which parts of the program different users can use, and will also allow each user to personalize the program by adapting their language and usage preferences.
First things first: create a Master Password, which will only be revealed to the administrators.
Thanks to this master password, GEDEX will be able to distinguish the administrators from the rest of users.
Please stablish now the Security Policy for GEDEX.
If as Security Policy you choose Distinguish users..., it is required now to create a contact card for each member of your firm, including lawyers, barristers, administrative personnel or external collaborators that will access GEDEX.
If as Security Policy you choose Distinguish users based on local network, it is required now to enter GEDEX once for each user (for instance, enter GEDEX from each user's computer, or close Windows session and start again a new session, for each user). Each time you start a session, launch GEDEX, open the corresponding user's card (the card for the user that owns the session credentials). To do so, go to the menu Configuration → Users → Show users listing and open the corresponding user's card). In that card, click the red house button and answer affirmatively when GEDEX asks "Are you XXXXX?" (being XXXX the name of this user).
If as Security Policy you choose Distinguish users based on passwords, it is required now to assign a personal password to each user. Open the card of each user (use the menu Configuration → Users → Show users listing and open the corresponding user's card). In that card, click the red house button and allow the user to enter his personal password (or enter it yourself and remember to give it to him afterwards). Repeat for each new user.
Consult the topic disassociating former members from your firm, for when any of the current GEDEX users leave your office permanently. With this you can easily reassign pending work to other lawyers.
